I get it - it's a free service - and it couldn't possibly be a priority. Funny thing, I was informed of this only when I asked for my keys back. They don't have a drop-off service - so, what am I supposed to do exactly - wait indefinitely? Why let customers book an appointment when you can't honor them?
Surprisingly, many people seem to have had great experiences - so I'm not entirely sure why mine wasn't. In any case, I won't be going back.
The staff was friendly and helpful. I needed to return an open item, and I had no issues at all. Their service department is overpriced for basic installations though.
It took them 4 hours to tell me that they had only one technician working (on a Saturday) and that they couldn't perform my vehicle's check engine light inspection - and that it might get done 'some time' during the day.
Good service. The lady who took the issue details ( i had break lights on) was friendly and said would take 2 hours. On the dot, i was called. The break inspection did not reveal any issue but the mechanic topped of the fluid. Since the break light was still on, i was given another appointment to get it more thoroughly checked next week. The whole process was smooth, there was no charge for break inspection and top off.
Nice place to shop hoeever sometimes you cannot find any one to assist you to locate stuff
Have a new (used) car. Took it to a Pep Boys - first time ever - for check of fluids as very cold weather is due. A truly nice tech carefully checked all the fluids as well as tires, battery wipers etc.. He gave all an A plus. Said I'm in "great shape" for the winter. He really raised my spirits. Then, much as i tried to insist, he refused to accept any money and/or gratuity. Yup, I now have a new favorite garage. I'm most greatful!
And this is for Pepboys Corporate - I get an email with the following content asking me to reschedule: 'Sorry you couldn't make your recent service appointment with us — do you want to set another time..' ?! What? No, thanks. I was there for 4 hours before leaving feeling utterly frustrated because YOUR store was short on staff and couldn't keep the appointment, so this isn't on me.
